How we use your data

The exact Google permissions we ask for, and why.

Private Line is an AI chief of staff you reach by text. To handle your inbox and calendar for you, it needs to connect to Google. Here is precisely what it can see, what it can do, and everything it will never do with it. This is the plain-language companion to our privacy policy.

What Private Line connects to

When you connect Google, you approve each permission below in Google's own screen. These three are the only ones we ever request. Nothing else about your Google account is visible to us.

Read your Gmail Restricted

gmail.readonly

So it can triage new mail, summarize long threads, and surface what actually needs you. It reads and searches your messages — it cannot delete them, mark them, or change anything in your mailbox.

Read-only. Your inbox is never modified.

Draft & send replies Restricted

gmail.compose

So it can write replies in your voice and send them — but only the ones you approve. Every outbound email waits for your explicit yes. We deliberately do not request the broader "send any mail" permission.

Nothing is ever sent without your approval.

Read & manage your Calendar Sensitive

calendar

So it can prepare your day, check your availability, and book, move, or cancel events when you ask it to. Calendar changes follow the same rule as email: it proposes, you approve.

Scheduling changes wait for your yes.

What we do, and what we never do

What we do with it

  • Use it only to run the assistant features you can see in Private Line.
  • Keep it on a server dedicated to you — never pooled with other customers.
  • Build a private memory of your people and projects on your own instance, so help stays relevant.
  • Let you disconnect and revoke access at any moment.

What we never do

  • Sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
  • Serve ads or build marketing profiles from it.
  • Train AI models on your Gmail or Calendar — ours or anyone's.
  • Let our staff read your mail in the ordinary course of running the service.
Google API Services User Data Policy — Limited Use

Private Line's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Where your data lives

Private Line does not run one big shared system. Each customer gets a private, isolated server instance. Your connected mail and calendar data, and the assistant's memory of your world, stay on that instance. The assistant reasons using an AI account tied to you, connections are encrypted in transit, and the token Google issues is held in a protected secret store — not sitting in plain text next to your content. A problem with one customer's instance cannot reach another's.

Turning it off is one tap

You are never locked in. You can cut Private Line's access two ways, and either one takes effect immediately.

From your dashboard — open the Integrations tab and press Disconnect on the Google account. This revokes our access and deletes the stored token right away.

From Google directly — go to myaccount.google.com/permissions, select Private Line, and remove its access. This works even if you never open the dashboard.
